Radio Shack did a pilot of TechAmerica supoer stores. They opened one in Denver and one in Atlanta and they were basically a large parts counter, books, home security/automation, DJ/Pro Audio, consumer electronics, computer parts, etc. They even kept stock on all those strange little Holtek chips. All around great geek store, if a little pricey. They occassionally had good sales on items, I got my oscope, heat gun, and Weller soldering station from them. Seems to me they were trying to do a bland version of Fry's, which if you're ever on the left coast you must visit. They also had an online store. I think they've since renamed the stores "Radio Shack.com" but they left the online store TechAmerica. It's a shame they didn't expand to the rest of the US. Everyone deserves to live in a place where you can buy heat shrink tubing, resisters and a Bob Pease book at 9:00 pm on a Saturday night. Tomy
