Two disclaimers: (a) I'm assuming that one can fade/pan cv's in the 130 and (b) I've never used a fade/pan module so I'm imagining what can be done. Some uses are probably 'obvious': pan to a mixer/recorder (from motm or hopefully my Prophet 5) & fading cv's from, say, different lfo's. Basically, I think the fader could have very useful applications in smoothly transitioning from one cv or audio source to a target cv or audio input. Add in the linear and exp. cv's on the dual vca to the below, and I think patches could become nicely dynamic. A few ideas (probably most, if not all, others have thought of): (1) The 700 is nice for abrupt switching between 2 cv sources, but I would also like smooth 'switching' between 2 cv sources with increasing/decreasing magnitudes - I would think that the fader would be appropriate for this (if it handles cv's). Of course, one could have 700 --> 130 fader, 700 switching, say, 2 lfo waveforms with 700 controlled by lfo rect. waveform from same lfo or a second lfo. (2) pan cv (e.g. an lfo waveform) into 2 cv inputs in one unit. Examples, the 2 fm cv's in the 440; sweep & depth in the 410; 2 fm cv's in the 300; shape & fm in the 320 (possibly back into itself). (3) More varied 'voicing' in Robert Rich's "chaos type patching" or the middle section of my Unknown Spaces (see motm News page for both) where one could have input into one 300 fm being varied using fader from 2 300's or variants on this theme with 2 300's. (4) audio from one or more 300's into 2 filters with each filter being fm modulated with a pan output (5) filter fm modulated by one pan output and resonance modulated with the other pan output Just some basic ideas. Any thoughts on these? Jeff
