What is best is a single-point surge suppressor, then non-surged power strips. Places like Allied, Newark and Grainger have pages of them. In a nutshell: think of parallel resistors. If you parallel a buch of resistors, you don't have the same value as 1, and evey additional lowers the overall. When you place MOVs in parallel, something similar happens.
