you can get stackable jacks in a way - i think maplins sell them in 
the 
UK,
and Rat Shack almost certainly do in the States, they're kind of like 
Y
adaptors for breaking a stereo signal, but only have a mono plug - i 
have a
couple but i don't use them - i always use my multiples, i suppose 
you 
just
never know when you want to patch that signal in a third direction

meanwhile - i've had some good deals on horizon cable in the UK - 
their 
midi
cables are my favourite (neutrik din connectors)
