Don't know how well this will apply to you, but I removed the old wall outlets and replaced them with 3 prongers. The ground I needed happened to already be hooked up to the mount casing of the old outlets and my newly installed sockets are all 100% grounded and up to par. The 6 outlet adapter will only ground to the current sockets if they are mounted in grounded enclosures within the wall. Mine works great BTW. Otherwise it might be/show a false ground and you will be no better off!
