thoughts for minimoe

2002-02-22 by revtor@aol.com

I like the idea posted by media.nai@.... very flexible and simple. It
may not have every feature of these other seq's out there, but for creating
evolving, polyrhythmical, multitracked patterns, these ideas (cv in/out,
oneshot/sterp/thru) would make a great module for sure. Moe has had his
ideas for months now, and I dont really see him changing his whole plan, and
nor would I, so soemone build these ideas into a 2u mini sequencer module!!!
It would work great alongside the minimoe and (maybe) MOAS eventually....(and
it would be different!!!!)
Now I see why you were afraid of letting your ideas out in the public!!!

as for minimoe..
I vote for the 5u (with the set and pos jacks in their own vertical rows
instead of the set bank being ontop and the pos bank on the bottom) and also
making boards for the 8 step expander...
I also think the dual gate expnader panel is a must have from my experience
with "modular" analog sequencers..

Now damn, were at 3 different panels already!!! So the question arises, why
not just super MOE.. I agree with a previous poster about being kinda
undecided.. SuperMOE was so on track and right, (modular!!) that cutting it
down and making a minimoe seems like were cutting outselves short of
functionality and fun!. You know that if you made the pcb's and panels
they would sell out!!! ....these are MOTM customers afterall...(hopelessly
addicted) : ) Plus, lets face it, the thing is gonna be big and expensive no
matter how you cut it..... 8u = 23 jacks, 24 knobs with pots, 8 pointer
knobs and switches! plus toggles, pushbuttons and led's?!? OUCH!!! Oh yeah
dont forget that beautiful 8u panel!!! So cost is kinds a moot point for
this. Cost = high.. no way around it!!!!! let arrick come out with
his standard 960 clone and let MOTM pave the way for new things!!!!

heh heh.. the fog gets thicker......... : )

(who maybe has no pull in this since I am broke and had to recently sell my
system : (
