Yesterday, I was re-cutting new prototype top for the SKB case back top (there were problems with the old one). How, I don't know, but I got my thumb and index finger into the carbide tip saw blade. My finger will be 100% normal in about 4 weeks (cut only a tendon). But, my thumb is now permanently 1/2" shorter than it was. And, my hand is wrapped so that I can do very little in the way of using it until the splint is removed in about 4 weeks. Needless to say, I am pretty upset about the whole thing. So, here is the deal on current Stooge orders. Panels are at paint shop. I will pick them up when he calls (soon I hope). And, get them shipped to the printer. I'll have to get my wife to do the packing. When the screen printing is done, ALL the panels will ship to Dave. If you have ordered drilling services, Dave will have to drill them. And, depending on the exact time frame, Dave may have to do most of the shipping (sorry Dave). However, I am hopeful that by shipping time, I will be able to do packaging, so Dave can bulk send me all the panels for those of you who have also ordered brackets and other non-panel products. I can ship them to you together as originally planned. I priced shipping to deliver that stuff in one package. Worst case is Dave will ship your panels and I will ship the other stuff afterwards when I am able to do so. With help from my wife, shipping will get done. SKB back stuff is still happening as planned. However, If I get them before I am up to packaging and shipping, some delay could occur. Expect these in October. Sorry for the personal transaction info in this mail, but I am only up to one left handed e-mail today: - Crow - The drilled prototype panel I was going to send you... That won't be happening. - Barry - Your assembled 822 will be delayed about 5 or 6 more weeks. You can wait or have a refund. - Jim R - I will forward your MIDI jack to Moe so he can use it for drilling hole size on your MIDIdac panel. - Paul S. - NAMM cabinets are under construction. Since I do not expect to get delivery from the cabinet maker until October, I think our deal is still on schedule. Worst case = I'll have to ship you cases and metal parts for someone else to assemble. You WILL have cases and flat rails. In surgery last night, I started thinking about what is important to me personally, and how my keyboard playing will be changed by this permanent change to the length of my right thumb. So, that means some changes to what I am willing to support in the future. So FYI: Stooge panels, brackets, flat rails, SKB backs, and all currently available metal projects that I can just order from the metal shop, will continue to be supported and available. In fact, more flat rails and all the SKB stuff is on order (I am revising the top). SKB backs will be a stock item. I have lots of extras on order. I have plenty of brackets in stock and plan to keep it that way. Here is what I personally will NOT be supporting in the future: - panel drilling service - That will have to come from Dave (assuming he plans to continue). - custom cutting - If you have needs to have a flat rail shortened or bracket modified, you will have to do that yourself. I will not be selling any services operating my power tools. - new product R&D that involves making a proto-type with power tools (rare anyhow). There will be a new size (fifth different size now) bracket available soon. At this point, all my R&D can be done on paper for brackets. Apparently, the new MOTM filterbank will also be a product that mounts via Stooge Bracket. Since that design has 5 pots in a row on 1.5" centers, instead of 1.625" (all old MOTM), a new 5 pot hole bracket with pot holes on 1.5" will be available. Hey Moe! Isn't that going to be just what you need for SuperMoe? That's about it. I will be slow and concise on e-mail for the next 4 weeks. Stooge Larry
