For speakers, it really depends on how you work... If you want to shake the walls, I'd recommend a nice bass cabinet and amp with built-in compressor (so you don't go blowing holes in the speakers accidentally). Look for a cab with 4x10-inch speakers for a start, I find that combination really satisfies. You can also find keyboard speakers, but these don't tend to deliver the deep WHOOMPH in my experience. Near-field monitors and consumer speakers will blow at higher volumes, whereas a bass cabinet will stand up to some heavy abuse. Near-field monitors are *supposed* to give you the most accurate sound however (although - cheaper NF monitors can be just as colored as any consumer speakers, so... as always, listen before you buy). best, - Scott ____________ http://www.red-noise.com http://www.strawberryplanet.org
