You need to write some code but you gain flexibility and the electronics (basically the MCU and maybe a couple of serial DACs) will be less involved compared with a bunch of counters and associated logic. And what you really want - have a few digits of 7 segment displays to show the selected phase separation and make it continuously variable in 1 degree steps. Maybe have 8 outputs that are selectable - so you could choose 8 phases of one waveform or 2 sets (4 phases of two different waveforms) or 4 sets (2 phases of 4 waveforms) - something like that. seth
