Some of you may get this twice as I am sending to the list and BCC:ing guys who ordered cabinets. OK, first the good news. I picked up 2 slant cabinets from the cabinet maker tonight. I have 6 cabinets here at the house. I have two more than will be done in the next few days. So, I will have 4 slants and 4 straights. I have already contacted the first 4 people to place cabinet orders. The 4 slants and 3 of the straights are now spoken for and will ship soon (right after Thanksgiving I suspect). I have one straight 2 row cabinet which is not spoken for. I will go back to the list of those who ordered one, start at the top and offer this one to those ordering next, no matter what size they said they wanted. However, I will not have a slant cabinet to go with it for a while. How long you ask? OK, now to the bad news. Cabinet maker #3 informed me today that he is going on vacation, and will not be doing any wood working for a while after I take delivery of these last 2 slant cabinets. Next he told me that he would be wintering in Florida since he is now retired. So, he will not even start on any additional cabinets until he returns from Florida in March. CRAP, CRAP, CRAP. This is the third cabinet guy I have broken in. So, what I am telling those of you waiting patiently on slant cabinets from me, they are not "in process." I cannot even promise you any particular delivery date. Obviously, I am holding no one to their orders since I have been unable to deliver in any reasonable time. So, send me a note and let me know. Something like: 1. I'm pissed and I am adding you to my block senders list. 2. Dammit! I'm shopping elsewhere for a cabinet. Take me off the list. 3. Crap! Well, keep me on the list and let me know when something becomes available. However, I am making no promise I will still be interested. 4. Keep me on the list. I can wait. I'll probably still buy a cabinet or two. As you can imagine, I am really disappointed. I am trying to decide if: a. I can possibly break in another cabinet maker. Sigh.... b. I will be staying in the cabinet business after I make those of you that want to hang in there for now happy. Stooge Larry Bummin'
