I've never had any problems roadtripping with modules mounted in SKB racks tossed in the back of a truck. BUT! I've had serious problems the couple times I tried doing the same thing flying overseas. I just sent an LFO back to Paul for repairs because Lufthansa had... well, I can't even imagine what they did considering the kind of damage. Paul said they must've dropped the rack 30 feet or more; the pots were totally f*cked. And let me take this opportunity to give Paul some public praise. Insofar as his business model focuses around using the highest quality parts and construction, I don't remember him ever stating any policy about repairs... Well, to make a long story short, he charged me next to nothing and turned it around immediately. I was really floored -- I expected the best, but I got more... Thanks again, Paul! I'd also sent an H3000 through Lufthansa's baggage and the faceplate (these are very heavy, very thick. As in bulletproof) was BENT, as were the rack rails. Now I pack each module individually in bubblewrap, in individual boxes which I pack in larger boxes, with lots of bubblewrap. And as much as possible, I include less esoteric gear on a technical rider to be supplied on-site. But - returning to the point - never a problem just tossing fully loaded SKB's in the back of a truck :-) best, - Scott ____________ http://www.red-noise.com http://www.strawberryplanet.org
