My take... 1. It LOOKS like a synthesizer ought to look ... no cheesy plastic housing surrounding an uninspired collection of membrane switches 2. I've wanted to build one since 1972 - this is my second (first?) childhood 3. I get to use my favorite programming language: solder++ 4. Status symbol ... forces others to think of me as "eccentric" rather than merely the certifiable lunatic that I am 5. One-function, one-control user interface ... no damned GUIs 6. Knobs, knobs, knobs ... nipple fixation! 7. They can be used to create eloquent, fantastic, emotional, and inspirational works of art 8. They can be used to create "strange" noises (like the sound of punishing a cat) 9. I built it myself and it uses parts that do not require an electron microscope to see 10. The present administration has not interpreted the Constitution to preclude legal ownership and possession of them Cheers! Tom Farrand [engage lurk mode ... ETX]
