RE: [motm] more PSIM

2005-02-03 by J. Larry Hendry

Thanks to Paul for tolerating this bit of off topic rant....

This mail is not in defense of or argumentative to anyone. However, I will
fill in a few facts since they were asked, and a few things I do know to be
true.

I want to hear the truth. So, ho many parts does the PSIM have? 50. If I
installed one part on each of the remaining PCBs each evening after work,
when would they be done? What I really mean is to hear Brice stepping up to
the plate and telling us exactly what the progress is and what that means in
terms of delivery.

> As i understand it, there are at least 50 outstanding PSIM orders.

I think your understanding is incorrect. Brice told me directly that the
total number of PSIMs being produced, production and pre-production, was 53.
I know there are many people that do have theirs. So, I am speculating that
about 50% are yet to be delivered.

> larry, U ordered in May?

I was one of the last to order, I think it was April. I ordered right after
AHMW2004 when I found out only a few were left. Whatever date that was.
I'd have to check my calendar.

> There are *no* refunds from Brice. He said he spent the money on parts.

I remember he said that. Those wanting a refund are forced to sell their
"promised" module. I think there are one of two people who have posted to
the list they would be willing to buy that promised delivery.

> Also, Many PSIM wantabes have ordered *without* front panels. Opting to
use a MOTM/Stooge panel instead....larry? for sure.

That is true - between 15 and 20.

> So, shouldn't that make construction "simpler"??

Brice says not since he has to test each one.

> There are 173 members of the SynthModules list. Show of hands....how many
here are "still waiting"???

Larry.... waving hand high in air....
