I figure I could squeeze another 2 1/4" (a slightly innacurate and 
conservative measurement) in the downward direction. So MOTM should 
fit just fine.

Oh, no, there's plenty of room for that bracket. Your 4 pot "long" one 
looks like it would would fit too.
