Hey Greg! When testing that new module in your rig, it would be wise to first check the power connector for shorts before plugging it into the supply and turning the power on. This will alert you to problems on the module pcb before you apply power and smoke something. If you have a Power One or similar supply (like the MOTM supply), it is *very* unlikely that you will damage the power supply. It has excellent short circuit protection, even with the limiter maxxed. I made a simple jack multiple with a pair of BNC connectors for connecting signals to the 'scope. This allows me to monitor signals in action with the rest of the system. Of course, as Mike pointed out, it's fun to watch!
