I was talking with Paul Schreiber on the phone one time and he 
pronounced it the first way, each letter by itself.

And a related question.  When you have a name in your head, do you have 
in mind both a spelling and a sound?  A friend of mine had a dog he 
called "Dow".  At least that is how it was spelled in my head when I 
called the dog.  "Here, Dow. Good dog!"   Later I found out his name was 
"Tao".

So in this case we have an acronym for something, Modular Of The 
Mothers, etc., I forget exactly :).  But what is its sound?  In your own 
mind, when you see *MOTM*, how does it ring?
