Nice overall explanation, Mark. Regarding the snippet below, I wanted to point out that although MOTM output level are typically 10Vpp, MOTM modules can put out up to 28Vpp or so (limited by the power supply rails). The 510 Wave Warper is one. Some of the filters can put out high levels too, and the 190 VCA's will pass large signals through.
