The dotcom modules are based on a single width of 2.125" (Moog) so 8 single width modules will fit in a space of 17", while MOTM single width modules are 1.75" wide so 10 will fit in a space of 17.5". They are not easily interchangeable in the same set of rails. I used separate dotcom 19" rails when I had a mix in a rack cabinet. D.
