I'm confused, too, and I own both an MS-20 & MS-50. So I'll use it as an excuse to say I really like the fact that each of the four EG's on those machines as some sort of nice extra feature (as if we haven't talked about enough potential EG features already!). MS-20: EG1 DAR with +/- outputs EG2 HADSR with +/- outputs MS-50: EG1 ADSR with dual +/single - outputs EG2 HDAR with +/- outputs and delayed (by D) gate output I've found that I don't use the Hold feature very much, but the initial Delay (both envelope, as on the MS-20 EG2, or gate, as on the MS-50 EG2) is a very useful feature. Also, I now see that it would make sense for an EG to have both an end-of-envelope output AND a cycle switch so that a mixer isn't required (although I would think a cheap 1/4" splitter adaptor would work for this application) for initial triggering or a retriggerable LFO. -Doug ceres@...
