A very good friend of mine is a Marketing Director for cdUniverse (online CD distributor). He was at a trade show in Manhattan last year and saw this guy hanging around the PC they had set up to do searches and demo the site. He noticed that this guy was searching on all the Synergy albums. He got excited (he often feels alone at that job, in a sea of top-40 crap) and struck up a conversation with the guy, saying, "So, you like Synergy?" As Larry Fast turned to say, "Well, this is my stuff," my friend recognized him. They talked for a couple of hours; he said that Larry Fast is a great, down to Earth guy. Mr. Fast talked a bit about his good friend Wendy Carlos, too. He said, 'Her house is FULL of tapes of works that have never been released; every now and then she can be coaxed into playing something rare and wonderful.' This friend of mine also does a Thursday morning program for listener-supported radio called "Leaving the Twentieth Century with No Regrets" (a line from 'Planet of the Apes,' but meant to be a comment on 'new' music), and wanted to ask Mr. Fast if he would come be interviewed on his show, but chickened out, which is unfortunate.
