Wow, I wouldn't have thought glue would be enough, but I guess it is! Hmm... I'm going to go on the hunt for a nice book on cabinetry/woodworking and see how these kinds of design problems are solved. They appear to be simple butt joints but there is a thin piece of veneer on the edges! The side is cut away such that the top fits in with notches on the front and back (like a tab and slot but the slot is almost the depth of the cabinet). [I'm really doing a horrible job describing this - I'm not a woodworker...] There are no screws inside or out that I can find so it must be all glued. There is a thin triagular brace fit into each joint. I've attached three more jpegs that might help. The first shows the middle brace and some of the side attachement as well as a bit of the triagular braces. The second shows a bit more of the bottom joint along with the hinged lower panel. The third shows an upper cabinet which has the same joints but without the triangular braces. I hope this helps. Eric (also wondering about those flat rails ;)
