john and list, Mark Vail's book is $27.95, but for me its 30% off (and don't ask, cause i'm not starting an underground book ring, well not unless i get payed for my efforts, <insert manical laughter here>). the book has a lot of detailed history (the development of synth companies and what not to do if you start one), molto pics, and a list of prices (yes they're a little off, but so are the prices some people actually charge). i'll ask again does anybody know about that 33 1/3 single that came with the "close encounter of the 3rd kind" sound track? i'm lazy like john and i just don't want to look it up at work. i've got read some more %^) peace, elliott ps- there's a great list of synthesizer related websites in the back and yes, it includes synthesis tech. so ..um.. when does M. Vail pay me for this advertising? --- In motm@egroups.com, jwbarlow@a... wrote: > > In a message dated 5/7/2000 7:53:40 PM, elliottishere@e... writes: > > > i don't know if i'm correct but i saw online some where > >that the Mark Vail book "Vintage Synthesizers" was out of print (if > >i'm wrong just verbally abuse me into reality). and then at work > >(barnes and noble) they told me that it was out of print and to > >reorder it in a month. so i did and it came in today but i haven't > >had a chance to really look it over. is this a reprint, or original? > > Well, now that MOTM is in it, maybe I can breakdown and get it.
