It is
definitely possible to damage the pots on that kit--I just had a long
conversation with Paul about that (my "Y" pot on that module is scratchy). The
instructions for that kit, for manipulating the PCB and pots against the panel,
are different than those for other kits. So if you tighten to hard, you can
separate the resistive element from the wiper (I think that's how it goes--I'm
kind of a dumbass when it comes to this).

I'm sure Paul will chime in momentarily.

Subject: [motm] (Gasp) Scratchy VCA pot!I was playing with my MOTM110 last night and discovered a very scratchy UNBALANCE pot! Since the VCA is nomally the last in the chain, it was very noticeable.
Can this be remedied in any way? I believe these are permanantly sealed pots.
Is it possible to damage the pot while assembling the 110? I never noticed it until last night and I've had it since the start of MOTM.
