O.k. Now I have an example to point to. The cases I want to eventually build for my MOTM are basically the vinyl-covered cases at synthesizers.com, with the metal corners. Supposedly those offered on the site can be hinged together, which is what I wanted--something like a large, open case that can be closed and clasped without knobs bumping into each other. I'd also like to build a removable plate into the back of one so that the power supply can be mounted there and accessed. I'd probably also need an access hole with connector to link power between the two cases. Is anyone else considering this? I was going to do it myself, but I don't know when I'll have access to the tools (Brooklyn apartment living doesn't lend itself to table saws, etc.).
