  A source of a pulse or pulses is needed.  Note that this does not have
to be anything in particular: the input is similar to those of an MOTM-120
in that any waveform can be used.

  Here are a few uses I can think of:

  *) Triggering an event on the Nth trigger pulse received.

  *) Generating an interval harmonic of a frequency (e.g., f/1.5)

  *) Synchronzing an oscillator at a rate that is f/N of the "master" osc.

  *) Use an LFO to constantly vary the divisor, N.  Mix some of the dry
input frequency (such as another waveform off an osc) together with the
variable rate output of the pulse divider to obtain a geometric
progression and/or (depends on LFO waveform) recession of the harmonic
structure.

  Of course, a lot more can be tried--these are just things I thought of
off the cuff while replying to the email.
