I guess I'm a bit confused about the "sound of gates" discussed here. Gates are logic with only 2 output states, on and off (OK, I'm ignoring X's for now). These should create some form of pulse wave coming out. Now, I can see different *chips* with different setup and hold times that could effect the shape of the pulse wave and certainly some of the duty cycle and there for the sound, but I don't think you can classify a *type of gate* as having a particular sound to it.
