He didn't think it would be very easy to get a pure analog signal out of it. He thought the only thing that would change is the software to enable more features. I told him that it wasn't possible to use one standalone to generate smoothed note data (note-on + pitchbend). He said he would check into it further and agreed that paying ~$500 for the ribbon plus ~$300 for the MIDI/CV did seem a bit out of whack for an analog ribbon.
