MOTM

In my new module suggestions a month or two ago, I think the ribbon
controller received the highest support ratings.  Just after that time there
was a decent thread on AH on the same subject.  The only "stand alone"
ribbon controller that I am aware of that is currently in production is
Kurzweil's Expressionmate which is only MIDI to the best of my knowledge and
contains a lot of other controls too (and is a bit overpriced).  The
cross-sales potential of an MOTM Ribbon Controller are fairly high IMO.  I
think the basic principal for doing the ribbon controller is the hardest
part of making one since there are at least several viable methods to
implement it.  Maybe we can get a couple of controller knobs (levers?
sliders?) and buttons on it too; perhaps that is a separate module though.
Perhaps the ribbon controller would have a cool wooden enclosure.  Perhaps
it would just be a thin strip which you could easily attach to the top of
your current controller keyboard.  Perhaps it would have some type of a
scaling gage to control the range of the unit or help it to interface with
other manufacturers' equipment.  Perhaps it would have lots of LEDs!!!!
(Oops!  I got carried away.  The MOTM is for nocturnal animals and vampires.
Lights are bad!  Ha!)

John, if you decide to brew your own, you might want to try a batch of
Indian Pale Ale (IPA).  It tends to complement analog modular synthesis very
well.
