I have some of the RS knobs from before the MOTM days. There actually is a fair difference in the quality of the part. The RS will more easily crack if overtightened. Since, I am the only one I know of so far to actually twist the stud form the back of a MOTM panel, I consider myself an expert on breakage by overtightening. :) Stooge Larry ----- Original Message ----- From: <improv@...> To: <motm@egroups.com> Sent: Friday, October 13, 2000 1:16 PM Subject: Re: [motm] DIY: motm pot knobs >Now that I'm taking the plunge into my first non-motm kit diy (multimix, >831 and 822) I've been taking a look at places to obtain parts (Mouser, >...). The only differences are that the RS knobs use a flat-head set screw instead of hex, and the silver part of the knobs seems set in a fraction of an inch deeper than the MOTM knobs. Neither difference is noticeable at all in use. Don't remember what i paid for a bag of knobs, but it can't have been much. ____________________________________________ Dave Trenkel : improv@...
