Yes, the MF-103 is a very cool VC phaser. I haven't tried JH's trick using the 320 LFO yet with the MF but I'll have to try it soon! I have done similar tricks using a Serge DUSG. The MF-103 is a very "thick" phaser IMHO. That's not bad, just the characteristic of the phaser. For another VC phaser, if you can find a MuTron Bi-Phase, there is a very simple mod that can add VC input to control the sweep as well as an output for the funky LFO.
