OT: a little help here...

2001-01-17 by Nathan Alan Hunsicker

Does anyone know if it is correct to have a noise suppressor directly
between hot & neutral on a 120VAC line? I broke one of the receptacles
on my furman pl-8, when i went to replace it i noticed the first two
outlets have a white box cap looking filter bridging hot & neutral, the
second set has a blue filter bridging hot & ground, the third has a blue
filter bridging neutral and ground and the fourth (the one i am
replacing) has a blue filter between hot & neutral. Is this ok? Is the
whole thing going to blow up in my face? Should I really listen when
they say "no user serviceable parts inside?" Let me know your thoughts.

PS: It's kinda on topic. I use this thing to power and light my MOTM

PPS: I only ask this question to the group since I know there are people
on here much, much smarter than myself. (flattery will get you
everywhere...)
