Well, I live very close to the border on the English side, and its truly
bizarre how the spoken accent changes when crossing from one side to the
other. Even in families that have lived in their repective areas for
years, the difference is very acute.

But then my London accent is completely alien up here too... "you're not
from round 'ere, are yer laddie?"
