baby panel ideas

2001-03-05 by klem klemmingberg

I know this discussion got overrun by mixer discussion (of which I will steer completely
clear), but as I was contemplating a single row 10U module case myself, I thought
I'd chime in for a moment:
I was thinking, at least for my cabinet, of having it be 6U high so that I could throw
a 1U mult panel (perhaps a slightly less Copperfieldian version of L. Hendry's magic
bus) across the bottom--opens up an extra smidgen of module space. Myself. I'm thinking that'd be a perfect spot for the upcoming preamp.

I originally had planned the magic bus to be 1U tall until I figured out
each one would have 96 jacks. Wow. I sure as heck don't need that many
mults. But, you have hit upon a good point. And, I expect it has occurred
to some of the SKB pop up case guys that they could fit two more MOTM
modules into their 2U height of lower space by turning them sideways and
using Paul's standard rack rails. Maybe SKB guys should lobby Paul to make
some of the module fronts available with sideways graphics (Larry ducking).

BTW, I consulted D Copperfiled on the magic bus (tm). He said it was too
much "smoke and mirrors" for him. <snicker>

This is how I mounted a couple of my modules until I got my second SKB
case--no joke! :)
