New track up on mp3.com, called "Little House on the 12" Initial pattern was programmed using Nanoloop, then sampled into the SP-12 and looped. Drum and percussion sounds are from the SP-12. The kick is filtered through the MOTM-440 LPF. "More cowbell!!" Bassline is from the FR777. Higher-pitched lead line is MOTM; 300 oscillator through two 420 filters, one in high pass, other in low pass mode; each are modulated by a single LFO, split via mult, one lagged slightly using 820 lag processor (I've been doing that a lot lately - its a subtle effect but makes the sound a little more interesting - it sounds much more animated when the lag is increased as you might guess). It's sequenced using the wonderful Frostwave Fat Controller. This began a couple of years ago as a live track I arranged for a house party at which I performed. I recreated some of the patterns by ear, using the original drum machine (the same SP-12) and then removed a lot of the bits to make the arrangement breathe more (the toms originally followed the lead line slavishly). I developed an entirely new bassline for it (real tough, huh? all four beats? :)) The lead line was originally sequenced on a SH-101, driven by a MPC2000 via a Kenton ProSolo. I whipped up an identical sequence using the Fat Controller in, oh, 20 seconds or so ;) Viva simplicity! Does anyone else think the SP-12 is just the bee's knees?
