As I mentioned earlier, I got mine last Tuesday. I wussed out and ordered
it assembled, for a couple of reasons. I had one slot left open in my
frac-rack (2XDark Stars, Frequency Divider and Mixer Processor), that the
MW fills quite nicely. Also, my schedule is so busy right now, I have no
time for kit building. I haven't assembled the MOTM mixer yet, have the
parts and panel around for Larry's 822, an Oakley Wavefolder and triple
VCA, and, maybe worst of all, a non-working Time Machine behind a Stooge
panel that's begging for trouble-shooting. Sigh. At the moment, I'd rather
spend a few precious hours making sounds than soldering kits. Hopefully
some time will open up later this summer.

I'll probably replace the 1/8" jacks on the MW with 1/4", the cool thing
about John's panels is that there's enough space to drill out the frac-rack
panels, put in 1/4" jacks, and you can still reach the knobs. It's not
quite the monolithic all-MOTM look but it works for me!

Bwahahaha!

I'm in the very same boat it seems, the kit arrived just today. Three cheers
for the guys at Stooge Systems too, for making available the nitfy panels.
If only all my other DIY devices looked as nice...

Got my Blacet/Wiard Miniwave in the mail today. Has anybody else got theirs
yet? If so, how many of you who have been cool waiting for the panels are
catching "Panel fever" since you have the Miniwave in your hands?

Now that the Mini-wave is here, who's gonna make some custom eproms for it?
It's got that empty slot just waiting for a chip? I have neither the gear
nor tech ability to do so, but would love to see some development on this
front.

I am going to in about 1 1/2 months. Please send waves and wave ideas to me
for inclusion. I would like to do several. I am going to do them for
around $40 a chip. Does that sound fair? That includes shipping.

Excellent! I'd like to see more scale quantizing banks, including just
intonation, microtonal scales, etc.

MINIwave is Here!!!

Got my Blacet/Wiard Miniwave in the mail today. Has anybody else got theirs
yet? If so, how many of you who have been cool waiting for the panels are
catching "Panel fever" since you have the Miniwave in your hands? HA! I am
so glad to have the stooges around to make the custom MOTM panel so I can
include this in my eternally growing cabinet! Otherwise this module would
end up in a shabby DIY panel. Thanks stooges for keeping the train moving
forward with your extra efforts.

I got mine today too. Everything looks great, but I have a suggestion
for MOTMized MiniWave builders that should improve the useability of
your module.

As delivered, all 8 LEDs in my kit were green. This makes sense for
John's panel layout, which separates the Bank LEDs from the Wave
LEDs. However, the Stooge panel positions them in a single row as the
original Wiard module did:

http://www.users.qwest.net/~daveb2/images/mw.jpg (note this is my
original Wiard panel, the Blacet one has an additional switch).

The point is, that you have to read the two sets of 4 LEDs as
separate, and they should really be a different color. So replace
your Bank LEDs with red or amber or some other color - you'll thank
me for it!
