I'd prefer the Super-Moe. The bigger, the more features the better.
Yeah, I'm a fanatic. I won't say cost is no object, but I'd figure
out some way to afford it. I might even go for 2. However, in the
meantime, I'd still go for the Mini-Moe. Maybe get a couple of those
and then go for 1 Super-Moe when it becomes available (Hoping!). No
real need to include the Clock or Quantizer on either, why reinvent
the wheel? Anyway, in general, I think the whole point of a modular
is to maximize the number of controllable parameters, so bigger is
better. Price is the only issue when it comes to bigger and at least
for me it is not the primary consideration. I also agree on the
partial kit idea. Just sell the PCB, PIC and Panel. Obviously a good
set of instructions would be most welcome as well. The minute you
make this thing available I'll have a check in the mail!

I've decided to do panel mockups for many different width panels and
stick them on a web page. I find I can't visualize what features fit
on a panel until I lay it out.

So far, I've done 2U and 3U MiniMoe versions, more to come.

Are these on the web, available for us to look at?

One of the other things I forgot to mention as a necessary feature would be pulse output jack for each stage (minimally needed for reset to shorter sequences than the maximum sequence length -- also great for other things).

I see DJ TW requesting many gate features on board the sequencer, and he seems to have a lot of experience with these features, and knows exactly how he'd use them. I am not in favor of putting these features on board, I'd prefer to see them moved on to a separate series of pulse pattern sequencer and modulation modules as well as a line of basic logic modules.

Other than the D brand sequencer that has been mentioned are there any other brands of modulars which assume the gate signals are taken from the sequencer and not the clock? I've only used the Serge TKB, the EMu and a few diy sequencers, but all the ones that I've seen have generally assumed the clock signal would drive both the sequencer and (usually after some VC modulation) the gate inputs.

Of course pulse pattern sequencers, flip flops, counters, and basic logic gates could make very interesting and complex patterns to use as gate streams with sequencers, and would make an interesting line of modules (for either Moe or Paul to build).
