Woodworking, Warp Factors, & Joinery

Thanks to all of you who have shared your experience on this matter!! Another question, if I may---if working with plywood, is "fancy joinery" out of the question? Meaning, biscuits, lock-miter edges, ... I assume dovetailing would be a big "no" for the looks if nothing else. All of my fancy plans were for solid wood and I don't know if it would translate to ply. If I had a planer & jointer I would probably continue as is, breadboard style, but right now I'm fence sitting. I was *really* into the idea of using hardwood and mitering my edges with a router & lock-miter bit for an invisible, classy, strong glue joint... I don't know if plywood precludes that. I do understand that ply tends to warp less than solid wood, but would it really be SO much of a problem in Moog-like cabinets? By comparison, I have an 18-ish-year-old Korg CX3 organ that I *assume* is real hardwood (sure dents & scratches like it), and I don't notice any warpage. On the other hand, it's probably 8" deep, not 14". Warping, hmmm... one of the 'analog realities' of this part of the process, eh? <g> We're putting vactrols in our filters... maybe the cases should be warped? Just kidding... that's a physicality I can live without! Thanks again in advance to all of you!! Mr. T
