Those damn guys at gasstation

Those guys are not very kind or accepting over there huh. They should quit bitching about big bad Paul and his MOTM he has built for himself and his customers with his own company from the ground up till today and start working on music or running a company that doesn't go out of business till its bought by a saviour. No names mentioned but they know who they are. I love my MOTM and I don't try to push it on anybody. I have built (as many of you have) synths with carbon pots and cheap jacks that all suffer from cracklyness or noisy pluggin etc. Thank you Paul for making the synth you wanted without comprimise and for letting these windbags run on and on and get all upset and whiny for a product they either don't own or haven't ever even played with. We all know it takes some time to coherse the "different" qualities out of each "different" synth out there so these guys have no grounds to talk. If ya don't own one, be happy with what you do own and let the MOTM community rest in peace in their own world. We like the MOTM modules and they simply need to shoot someone down so Paul is the fall guy cause he has and "Edge" with his attitude sometimes (wink wink Mr.S). I'd be proud too seing as how this was a side project now grown out of its shell and quickly making its way to the most succesful that Paul could have dreamed in the beginning. Too bad since this is such a small community or worldwide users and the negativity effects it all. Synth owners are all bitches aren't they? Myself included, but I don't go on and on about the things I don't like with other peoples projects. I try to help contribute new techniques and modules ideas from my experience. Maybe you pro's out there should do the same with your years of design, repair, creative and powerful influence over the DIY community. Make your own things to flaunt and be proud of. Nuff said, I know you all read this too just to see what is said HA!
Proud MOTM and Modular Analog enthusiast!

Subject: [motm] is it quiet..?

hello all,
is it quiet or what ?
(in which case this is a test...)
had a look at the motm thread on gas station this morning, 170 posts pretty
much just baiting paul for a response - unfortunately i couldn't be bothered
to read them all and i was far too hung over and busy to formulate a
response that didn't include allusions to violence
thought of a good one now though...

cheers

Sometimes the amount of negativity people display on the Web amazes me.
Myself and another guy (tijn) started ReasonStation (www.reasonstation.net)
back when Propellerheads' Reason first came out in late 1999. In the
beginning, it was a cool community site with a Utopian vision of sharing
and collaboration.

Soon, it devolved to bunch of l33t h4XX0r5 with crack versions of Reason
bitching about how it didn't do this or that. Then there was the chart
spoofing, name calling, and finger pointing. I gave the domain to tijn and
washed my hands of it.

I guess the bottom line is that the people who are putting negative energy
into the universe are going to do so regardless. So it's incumbent on the
people who aren't like that too keep on truckin' and make music. To do
this means you have to be able to ignore the critics, or at least filter
the bullshit from the genuine, well-meaning critiques. To see people
dissing MOTM just like they dissed the Propellerheads doesn't suprise me.

There are people who can make more music with a pair of chopsticks and a
toothpick than talentless people can with all the gear in the universe.
Anyway, I be quiet now.
