MOTM mini-review in new TapeOp magazine

2002-05-23 by Vehorn, Benjamin

Just wanted to mention that there is a short review of the MOTM 410 in the new TapeOp magazine. I can't quote it directly because I don't have it in front of me, but it says something to the extent of "The most beautiful filter I have ever used". The reviewer goes on to say that, though it requires a power supply for an extra $179, it was well worth the total cost of both just to have the filter, and that it was a bonus that it could power additional modules.

IMO, TapeOp is the best recording magazine on the market today. Though it does contain advertisements, it caters to a DIY "everyman" point of view. Lots of articles on hot-rodding cheap mics, building your own spring reverbs, etc.

The best part? Free subscriptions. Sign up at www.tapeop.com
I am not affiliated with TapeOp in any way, I just think it's a great mag.
Enjoy.

Concerning power supplies, I'm sure some of you know that the Blacet
PS500 is fully MOTM compatible and might be just the ticket for the
small system. Or a portable unit.

It does not take up any front panel room and costs only $79 assembled.

The PS500 is 500mA/500mA and conservatively rated. (We designed it for
750/750mA.)

Thanks for the tip, Ben! This might be a fun magazine to get-just for
the DIY ideas. Free yet... There's an article about builing a plate
reverb, mods for many popular devices... I'm in!
