mount..?

cheers

PCB mount with a supporting panel bracket.

Paul, although I still haven't seen a real MOTM panel
myself, don't you think that inserting a midi plug in the
font panel will scratch the paint?

No, it won't. This is the *same* connector that Encore and Kenton use in their products.

Several big questions regarding the Useq. 1) Can you use the Gate inputs to
reverse the sequence? 2) Can these inputs also be used as a random step
function? Can you use a trigger to step through the sequences? For
example, you are playing sequence 1 and then send a pulse into one of the
gate inputs to move to sequence 2, 3, etc. etc.

Yes to *everything*. Please read the PDF design document there on the page. It explains all of
this.

Paul,

The uSeq sounds very interesting and I know I will get at least one! The
question I have is why the limit of only 9 sequences of up to 99
steps? The 99 steps seems reasonable but the 9 sequences seems a bit
limiting since this is a digital device. 9 sequences makes a long gig a
bit tight and certainly doesn't allow for more historical storage (and
there doesn't appear to be any way to dump the sequences via MIDI). Is
this a limit of the EEPROM you are using? Would Flash memory with a
battery cost about the same and provide lots more storage (MBytes instead
of KBytes)?

Don't get me wrong, I know there is lots you can do with a single sequence
on this module but the limit seems low compared to other pattern-like
sequencers.

It's a limit of the EEPROM. I wanted a sub $400 until and this is what I came up with.

Err...sub-$400 "unit".....
