I would agree completely. I to was astounded when I first heard the
MOTM sound. I play primarily Prog Rock, although I dabble in the
electronica as well. The MOTM sound is absolutely the best for
recording synth leads. The oscillators track wonderfully, and they
are unbelieveably stable as well. I used to have to retune my Moog
stuff every 10 or 15 minutes. You can come back to your MOTM 8
hours later and the oscs are still in tune. I have tried through
out the years to determine just what it is that makes some synths
sound so much better than others. I've looked at waveforms and
spectra and FFT plots. I've never been able to explain it. Even
many modules made by the same manufacturer often sound different
from each other, with some sounding noticeably better. I always
thought some of the earliest Moog stuff sounded far better than
those modules which were made later even thought the later stuff was
more stable. And most other manufacturers modules sounded thin or
reedy. MOTM modules have balls!!! I've owned or played about every
synth ever made and nothing sounds as good.
Anyway, the rest of the modules in the MOTM family are every bit as
good as the oscillators. It is for this reason that many of us
MOTMers are willing to wait months or even years for new modules.
They are always worth the wait!!!
