motm 960 power dist. board question???

motm 960 power dist. board question???

2003-03-24 by John Laudicina

I must be an Idiot??

Just got my 960 from paul and in the process of
hooking it into the machine. On the 960 there are 2
screw blocks and the faston conectors... on the 900
there is only the MTA-156 connectors availble! Do I
cut the wires that plug into the 900 (j-1, J-2, J-3)
or do I take a pwr distr cable and cut one connector
off one end and hook the connector end to the 900 mta
connector and the other end (without the mta
connector) to the screw terminals on the 960 board????

Or... just hook the power dist cables from the 960 MTA
connectors to the 900 mta connectors?

Does any of this make sense to you all?

I have been waiting a long time to power up 3 modules
that I havent had power for. It has been over 4
months... help

John

I can give some generic advice, because I didn't use a 900 and have
never seen one - see answer below...

Generally, your second proposal is OK for just a few modules in a
temporary solution. What you really want is to get some nice thick
(14 gauge) wire to run from the fastons directly to the power supply
output terminals, not through the MTA connectors on the distribution
board mounted to the 900.
