From: mate_stubb <mate_stubb@...> A box of patch cables was waiting for me this evening when I got home. These are the most gorgeous patch cables I've ever seen! Larry rocks! Moe --LH-- The Mother of all Modulars deserves the only the best cables (well, the best that I thought were reasonably priced). BTW, I have one bit of error to report in part numbers for the Neutrik end. I originally reported that the number was NYS224. That number is not correct. I ordered both the 224 and 209 from Mouser to compare (the ones Mouser lists as Switchcraft 280 equivalent). Neither of these are the same as the ones on our Rapco cables. The NYS224 is indeed the connector on the limited edition Wise Guy Synth cables that some of you ordered that did not want the translucent cables. So, I asked Rapco about the Neutrik connector. They tell me it is actually called NNP. I have been unable to find that connector anywhere. Amazingly enough, not even ONE of these connector numbers can be found on the Neutrik connector page. It appears that it may be a Rapco exclusive. Internally, the connectors are identical. But, the barrel on the NYS224 has only one knurl stripe and says Neutrik below that. The NNP has the familiar two knurl stripes. I have both and prefer the look and feel of the NNP. So, the connector is exactly what I promised and the one in the photos. It just has a different number than I reported. BTW, if there is significant interest in the cable DIY camp (I know you guys are out there), I could do a group Switchcraft connector buy. Rapco has the best prices I have ever seen on Switchcraft 280s. If there is interest, I will follow up on this. Larry

> Rapco has the best prices I have ever seen > on Switchcraft 280s. I can get the 280's for $1.11 each in quantities of 100. Cheaper if I order more. Does Rapco have a better price than that? The same place sells Neutrik 224 connectors for $0.69 each in the 100's. Now bulk cable, however, is an entirely different story... Jay

Looks like Jay is in charge of Switchcraft 280s if you cable DIYers want some. > Now bulk cable, however, is an entirely different story... --LH-- The translucent cable used in Logo Synth Tech cables is not available in bulk. Certainly, many other quality cables are. Larry

Just to publicly thank Larry for providing a great set of cables at very reasonable prices. They were so nice, that after removing them from the mailing box I was motivated to construct a patch just to use them at once (corny, I know). Synth Tech logos are well done and look nice. Thanks, Larry Jeff

Here is where I found the price: http://64.213.162.194/catalog/catalog_pdfs/pdfs2/acc_connectors.pdf Full Compass is an excellent. I just called them up to place another order for 200 Neutrik connectors from them, and asked them about their pricing. Apparently, the price for 100+ of anything is the same as any quantity above that. Which is good because you don't have to be pressured into ordering 1000+ just to get a good price (and by far they have the best deals on cable/connectors I've seen anywhere). The same place also sells Canare GS-6 (the best instrument cable I have been able to find in its price range) for ~36 cents a foot in full spools. I'd happly go in at cost if anyone wants to order any cable. Jay

Heh. Interesting that Full Compass is still around. In 1972 they were just a little recording studio in Madison, where I recorded with my rock band. Moe
