MOTM-450 Fixed Filter Bank Demos

MOTM-450 Fixed Filter Bank Demos

2003-05-14 by Paul Schreiber

Uploaded some various demos of the MOTM-450 Fixed Filter Bank to the following directory:

http://www.synthech.com/demo/ffb

Various source material is used to try to show what the filter sounds like. It's sort of
difficult in a way, like trying to demo EQ. And then the MP3 encoding gets in the way. Most of
the demos are the source being filtered by 1 band or sets of bands at a time, then manually
tweaking those bands "down" while bringing others "up".

The filter frequencies are the same as the Moog 907A, but the filter circuit is completely
different. We use a specific audio topology called a FDNR (fud-ner, or Frequency Dependent
Negative Resistance) that has linear phase and very very low noise and distortion (this is the
filter type used on Apogee DACs and ADCs).

Thanks for listening.

<g> I've been doing this sort of typo at least a hundred quazillion
times.

corrected to: http://www.synthtech.com/demo/ffb (for more convenience).

HTH, Michael.

PS: This filters sound fantastic (as far as I can tell from MP3)!!

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
