strategies for adapting power supplies to MOTM

2003-12-19 by Aaron Day

Hi All-

I just purchased an EMT console that came with an extra power supply.
Besides the 24v standard both supplies are capable of delivering +/-
15v and I'd like to use the extra to power my MOTM system.

The unit in question is an EMT NZ 186. Big, rack-mounted, with a
Siemens-style interconnect.

I'd like to pull out my Power One supply from my 900 and patching the
EMT units output in its place. Yes/no?

Before I fry someone/thing does anyone have a more elegant solution?
Ideally I'd like to keep my 900 as a portable supply for a single
cabinet and use the EMT for powering both cabinets in the studio. If
the EMT is stable enough can I patch it directly to a distribution
board?

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks,

What is an EMT NZ 186? Even Google gives no results.
