One slant cabinet, safe and sound

One slant cabinet, safe and sound

2004-02-14 by Mike Marsh

Howdy All -

Two beautiful things awaited me after a b**ch of a commute: the
printed version of the Kyma X manual (400 pages in color!) and a two-
row slant cabinet in walnut from none other than Stooge Larry.

The packaging is incredible. I'll post a pic or two soon. I'm
letting the wood aclimatize before assembly. I'll get to that
Monday. Then I'll post more pics.

Larry's the man.

Wah, I'm jealous! :-) These sound like excellent cabinets (& certainly
look terrific on Larry's page), and I'm sad that Larry's cabinet maker has
become, er, apparently less interested in making more.

Happy Cabineting!

Cabinet maker # 3 is in Florida during February getting away from this
crummy Indiana winter weather. However, he has promised to start delivering
more when he returns. I have one 2 row straight cabinet which is not yet
spoken for. I was waiting for a 2U slant to go with it before I go to the
waiting list. Based on what I have seen so far, I can expect # 3 cabinet
guy to roll out about 2 a month WHEN he feels like it. So, I will continue
to sell them as they come available as long as there is interest. But,
clearly, I can not promise anyone any delivery dates. Sigh....

Cabinet maker # 1 is still making my cabinets (different design than what I
sell). I ordered 7 for me that will house my personal synth. That started
about 2 1/2 yeas ago. I have 3 of them so far.

Cabinet maker # 2 made the two NAMM cabinets. He quit after only doing
those 2. Shame, he was the best wood worker of all.

I will not be looking for cabinet maker # 4. I've had it with them. I'll
beat # 2 until he finishes my cabinets and continue to slowly milk work out
of # 3.

Larry (who actually never wanted to be in the cabinet business). I make $25
profit on each one.

Can't wait to get the modules in.

Pics coming...
