MOTM

I guess you could say I'm a new initiate to the cult of MOTM; I'm 
eagerly awaiting my first two modules, I bought the power supply 
(900) and the micro mixer (890) and can't wait to put them together.  
I've been interested in modular synthesizers for a while, but it was 
only recently that I took the plunge and actually bought anything.  I 
can't say I've ever built anything like this either, so this is even 
more of an adventure!  
Here's my first two questions: to process external audio through the 
MOTM, do I need a specific instrument interface?  Until I can afford 
a proper MOTM filter and LFO can I connect the mixer to my Frostwave 
filter & Moogerfooger MF-102 ring mod/LFO pedals?  
I look forward to asking more newbie questions and contributing 
when/where I can.  Thanks for any help in advance, more from me
