RE: Never Touched an Arp

RE: Never Touched an Arp

1999-11-01 by Tkacs, Ken

If it makes you feel any better, I used to look at pictures of the 2600 and
think that it was one of my "dream machines." But then in the very late
seventies I made the acquaintance of a fellow who had one of these, and
after he let me patch & paw it for a few days straight, I was left thinking
that it was rather thin-sounding.

i may be the only analogist alive who has never even touched
anything made by
arp. just one of those unexplainable, unreasonable
predjudices but i never
cared for the sound of their stuff ( from recordings ) or
the look of it.
i must admit, though, that the 2600 seems to have been a
machine that
		influenced a lot of people.

still, they were very popular machines ( not just 2600`s but the whole line )
and very influencial to a generation of synthesists.
