Website changes Pt. 1

Website changes Pt. 1

2006-05-17 by Paul Schreiber

a) updated the NEWS page to point to new Frac modules (in June issue of
Electronic Musician!).

b) there is a *test* of the new home page here: www.synthtech.com/test

the nav bar at the top is a 'drop-down' style, and if you hit your Refresh
button the image on the right should swap (it's a random file but only 2 choices
now). This format is what I will use going forward. PHP and CSS are used so I
can add/delete pages and feature better.

By Friday, this test site should be updated to implement all the new features.
Please check it several times with FireFox, Safari, whatever you got :) If
something is wacky, email me. The site is set to use 1024 x 768.

a) Didn't see anything about or on EM, just Analogue Haven.

b) image on the right didn't swap for me in firefox. Don't know why
you would want to swap another image in to replace that beautiful shot
anyway <g>

It's in the *print* edition (got mine today). It won't be on the web until
mid-June.

Really? Can someone else verify? It should swap *eventually*.

Seems to work fine on Safari... photos swapping upon refresh, drop
down menus appear, etc.

Depending on the browser there could be cache issues. Paul, are you
explicitly sending no-cache headers?

Looks rather funny with Galeon :

Works fine in Firefox and Opera, except that you *need* to enable
Javascript to get anywhere :

BTW, the new website works much better with Opera. With the previous
site it sometimes had problem with the individual module pages. The
text ended up on the far right.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
