V1.2 is found at: www.synthtech.com/m650 the SFI file requires the Updater.ZIP (Win XP) file. This release fixes 1 bug, but it was a pain: when using MIDI Clock to drive the arpeggiators, V1.1 would hang if you accessed certain menus. V1.2 corrects this problem. Paul S.

Paul,
Will the 650's that have been ordered but not shipped yet contain
firmware V1.2? I'm assuming that mine is among this group since my CC has
not been charged yet.

Where can we find instructions for doing the update? Richard Brewster Paul Schreiber wrote:

Basically, the steps are: a) get the .SIT file and unpack Updater.zip from www.synthtech.com/m650 b) when you run the program, it should automatically detect all MIDI ports on your PC. There are drop-down selections if you have more than 1. c) attach MIDI cable, turn on the '650 d) select the .SIT file e) download Paul S.

It is not working for me. The program is able to connect. The 650 display says 'Connected Await RX'. I select the file and tell it to update . The update software says it is updating the firmware. There is a progress bar and then it says 'MIDI timeout'. The 650 has to be power-cycled to work again. There is a Global Option called Patch RX that is Disabled by default. I tried enabling this, but it made no difference. Richard Brewster Neil Bradley wrote:

The OUT on one bus on your computer needs to be connected to the IN on the MOTM-650. Sounds like it is since it's saying "Connected Await RX" (that means it's in firmware transfer mode). The IN of one of your MIDI buses on your computer needs to be connected to the out on the MOTM-650. If the IN and OUT ports in the SFUU aren't set correctly, you'll also get this problem. Double check your connections, and let me know. -->Neil ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- C. Neil Bradley KE7IXP Beaverton, Oregon
